Donald J. Trump has been elected for a second term as President #47. Trump supporters are euphoric. They are hopeful that President Trump will cure the ills of the nation. I think we all hope for a better future, especially if we have children we love. But how much will he be able to accomplish?
We have a multitude of problems facing us today. The border situation is out of control, in spite of the valiant efforts of VP Kamala Harris, the so-called border czar. The economy is in a tail-spin, and the national debt is raging beyond any hope of repayment. And spending continues to rise astronomically. The interest on the national debt exceeds defense spending. The debt to GDP ratio is over 135%. The US is bankrupt by any metric one cares to name. Check out the US Debt Clock for the gory details. The economy and the debt problem are among President Trump’s greatest challenges.
John Williams publishes alternative measurers for government statistics on his site Shadowstats.com. These “alternative” measures are calculated as they were calculated prior to the Clinton Presidency. Our behavior is somewhat responsive to how we view economic factors, so it is in the government’s interest to make us “believe” that things are better than they actually are. If the metrics signal recession, we are likely to reign in our spending. This in turn accelerates recessionary trends as we seek to mitigate negative effects on our budgets by cutting spending, preparing for layoffs, and planning for economic hard times. If you thought unemployment was actually 25% instead of the official number of 4.1%, how might this affect your behavior?
What we have is a debt trap that has passed the point of no return…
The cold honest truth. Trump can’t fire Powell, and Powell won’t be able to engineer a soft-landing. I expect Trump will cast doubt on and and place blame on Powell for the coming economic hard-landing. He seems to be setting this up. This debt-trap collapse will happen on Trump’s watch. There is not much he or anyone can do about it. And this collapse will be world wide. Wouldn’t it be ironic if Russia turned out to be the safest place to sit through this?
And about Trump’s possible pick for Agriculture Secretary? Would anyone outspoken about AIPAC be able to be confirmed by the “compromised” Senate? The confirmation hearings should be interesting if Massie is tapped for the position.
Representative Thomas Massie says Congress members should not be dual citizens. He was immediately criticized and labeled anti-Semitic. In this clip Massie talks about the fact that every Republican but him has an AIPAC guy.
PolitiFact checked the claims of dual “Israeli” citizens in Congress and rated the claims false. I don’t hold much faith in fact-checkers. So why did PolitiFact check only Israeli dual citizens and ignore others, notably Ted Cruz, who holds US and Canadian citizenship? PolitiFact is obviously biased. I believe PolitiFact is engaged in narrative control, not honest-to-goodness fact-checking.
If PolitiFact is correct, which I doubt, what about Congressional staffers? How many Congressional staffers are dual citizens and interact with their AIPAC persons when crafting legislation? Should staffers be required to sign oaths to the Constitution and be held accountable when violating their oaths? Should lobbyists be allowed to be dual citizens? What about executives and employees of NGOs? If they receive tax exemptions, shouldn’t they be required to swear oaths to the Constitution?
Attorney Todd Callender and Lisa McGee FOIAed the Biden Administration officials for their properly sworn and executed oaths of office and found them all to be defective or missing entirely. What? No proper oaths? What does this mean for our Republic? Is this a way for traitors to get away with signing pledges to outside interests? Will President Trump remedy this situation? This remains to be seen.
Cynthia McKinney revealed that candidates for Congress were required to sign a pledge to Israel in order to receive funds for their political campaigns. How does signing a pledge to Israel benefit the constituents of a given US jurisdiction? Is it not treasonous for members of Congress to sign pledges to foreign nations? I would love to see President Trump reach across the aisle to include the courageous and out-spoken Cynthia McKinney in a prominent role in his administration. Secretary of Education would be my choice. Perhaps she could do for education what RJK Jr. would do for the FDA.
By far the most interesting pick I have heard of so far is AJ for Press Secretary. His recent Tweet.
“I formally accept the offer to serve as President Trump’s new Press secretary.”
What poetic justice! I can’t wait to see AJ bully the “fake news” folks like they have done to him. Bravo President Trump! This is a stellar choice. I could not imagine a better choice for this position. Again, bravo!
Elon Musk appears to be another interesting choice. Will he be successful in reigning in wasteful government spending? Or maybe he will require all government owned limousines to be Tesla electric vehicles. Will he target SpaceX, NASA, or the US Space Force for spending cuts? I am being facetious, but I think you get the point.
I have been a hopeful optimist all my life, but now I am more measured in my thinking. Will President Trump do what it takes to fix the nation’s problems? Or will he prove to be a swamp creature he claims to be rooting out? I have my doubts, but I am hoping for the best.
Whether or not Trump is effective at solving the nation’s problems, his administration is shaping up to be the most entertaining Presidential administration in US history.
Trump has said a lot and made many promises...so we shall see if he lives up to his word.
Looking at past performance it doesn't look good.
I think Trump did a great job his first term. People focus on what he did not accomplish. People were happy, and they had money in their pockets. I believe the things he did not accomplish was because he could not. He came to that position naive, but not this time. I understand all the talk about the debt, but Nesara (IF that ever happens) could and I believe would fix everything. The Brunson Case will be exposed, overturning the 2020 Election (it already was overturned, from what I gather), and a lot will change for the better. First chaos, of course, because the Left are sore losers. I don't know why they are so damned mad - they do it to themselves. Cheaters are losers. Period.
